REVIEW- 5 OUT OF 5 STARS
Captive Beauty is story full of emotion and suspense, with a great storyline that kept me hooked. Natasha Knight is a fantastic writer and a great storyteller, and I really enjoyed Killian and Cilla's story. She put a creative twist on the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale to give her readers a sexy and intriguing story.
I enjoyed the main characters of this book, both of whom were well-developed. What I really loved the most was how Knight deviated from the sheltered and innocent profile of the heroine, instead giving the readers a character who was flawed and damaged. Cilla was someone who had been broken in the past and as a result, built a wall around herself. I loved that she was the one with the issues and the need to distance herself emotionally. It was definitely refreshing to see a heroine who avoided relationships for a change. Killian was also a flawed character due to the tragedies of his past. He was an alpha in every sense, and had no problem showing Cilla who was in charge. He saw her for more than what was on the surface, and I loved seeing the two of them get past each other's barriers. Knight is so skilled at creating delicious tension between her characters, and I loved the push-and-pull scenes between Cilla and Killian. They lead to some seriously hot moments between them, and brought out both the best and the worst of both characters.
The plot of the story was well-paced and the emotional moments were balanced well with the romance and suspense. There were dark elements but they weren't overwhelming. I loved the way everything wrapped up in the end. This was one of my favorite stories by Natasha Knight, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future!
