Review of BENEATH YOUR BEAUTY by Alexa Keith

Review for Beneath Your Beauty by Alexa Keith

This is not my typical genre, but for some reason I was pulled to this book, and I couldn’t be happier. Not only did I find a book that I absolutely love but I found a new talented author to add to my favorites. I  love authors that write books that make you feel a  number of emotions in just one story. It's definitely a sweet, "feel good" book, but the path is not always easy. There is sadness, anger, lust, passion and humor on the path that is not straight and narrow, but curvy and twisting. One minute you are smiling, the next minute you are angry. The tears are always lingering as are those feel good body chills. Then, the author throws in humor, giving you many LOL moments. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard! The inner dialogue of each character is hilarious as is the banter between these two exact opposites that make an exceptional couple that proves that opposites do indeed, attract.

I'll jump right in and discuss the hotness factor. Yeah. There is not a scale that goes high enough to measure that so you'll have to trust me that this book is a scorcher. But here's the thing. If you are looking for porn, you will be disappointed. While the sex is scorching hot, it is not the primary focus. There is a very sweet heartwarming story of two lost souls that find their soulmate in the most unlikely person possible. It's frustrating, sad, happy and funny as they work out their many issues. The one thing these two seem to get right from the beginning is the sex so, yeah, scorching. There is sex often, of course, as one of the characters is a famous porn star. So while the sex is present and oh so hot, there is a story first and foremost.

I promise you will not be able to put this book down. It is 100 % story with absolutely no filler. You'll not want to miss a thing so there is no reason for skimming. The story and the plot progress effortlessly. The characters, including the secondary characters, are well developed and believable. I connected easily with all of them.  The dialogue was done in a way that there was never any confusion as to who was speaking, or thinking.  There is dual POVs  and they are done very well so that the flow of the book is not stunted in any way. There is no cliffhanger, and the ending will not rip your heart out. This is the first book in this author's debut series, but the following books will be about the secondary characters. The character development was done so well that I envisioned many other books.

Essentially, the book was well written. The only problems weren't so much with grammar but with a few inconsistencies. There were a couple of passages that were a bit confusing, but it was just because it needed at most another sentence to make it more specific. It did not take away from how much this book made me feel, which is the most important thing for me, so I gave it 5 stars. This is a brand new author and this is her debut novel and I think she did an amazing job.

I very much enjoyed this book. I recommend this book and this author. I plan the read her next books as soon as she releases them. In fact, I am anxiously awaiting her next masterpiece. I also recommend that you one click immediately...
